    Grace hospital. Born in Iceland, Mr.

    Stephanson came to Canada 68

    years ago. For 57 years prior to his

    retirement in 1931 he was a farmer

    at Vogar, Man. Surviving are his

    widow, Susanna, one daughter, Mrs.

    L. E. Evendon, of Victoria, B.C.,

    and a son, Stephan, Jr., of Winnipeg.

    The funeral service will be

    held at 3.30 p.m., Saturday, in the

    Bardal funeral home, with burial

    in Brooksidc cemetery. Rev. V. J.

    Eylands will officiate.

Note on Husband: Stefán STEFÁNSSON

Spring of 1885 went to Alberta, came back that same year and opened a resturant in Winnipeg. 1892 partnership in farming with Jens Petersen at Red Deer Island in the Narrows, Mb. stayed until 1898. In 1902 the partnership was disolved.

Move to N.E.1/4 33-22-9 W1and built a log house and other buildings.(1906 census states that he was at 33-22-9 w1) Dominion Land Grant for NE 33 22 9 W1 given 23 March 1915 In 1908 built a large home in Vogar.1925 the house burnt down and the family moved to Eriksdale where they purchased the Hotel. aprox. 1932 the family moved to Winnipeg where Susanna operated a boarding house.

 

 

The Dog Creek Post Office was established in his home and was sworn in as Post master.

Date of appointment for postmaster for Dog Creek 1905-03-22 (name changed to Vogar in 1919-05-01) to 1925-08-05 reason for leaving was Resignation. Stephan was the Chairman of the Board for the Siglunes School for 1907-1908 years.
